Everyone made the same joke about Manchester United after Arsenal beat Southampton 2-0 in Premier League

After the Gunners’ victory at St Mary’s it was Manchester United’s turn to face the wrath of social media

Arsenal have been on the wrong end of every joke this season.

So supporters of the north London club will be pleased to learn that on this occasion it is in fact the Man United fans who are facing social media’s wrath.

And to make things even better for Gunners supporters, their club is a direct reason for the jokes being thrown the way of the Old Trafford outfit.

Ahead of Arsenal’s Wednesday night game the Red Devils were sitting pretty in fifth in the Premier League table, four points behind rivals Man City in fourth.

United have just three games left of the season, and are desperate to finish as high up the table as possible. And following Arsenal’s recent capitulation, they were looking set to do exactly that.

However, last time out United were beaten 2-0 by Arsene Wenger’s men, who then travelled to St Mary’s and picked up three more points on the road.

The back-to-back victories saw the Gunners leap-frog United, who have picked up just two points from their last three games, to put themselves back in contention to finish in a Champions League spot.

And well, everyone who noticed what happened made the same joke at the expense of Jose Mourinho’s side…
